Got Your Back Pledge

Got Your Back Pledge

BTU We’ve got your back Pledge

As a union, we vow to make sure that any member on strike is supported! We will support tenants on the building/apartment level, the city level and the State level. Here are the following actions we plan to take:

Building/Apartment Complex Level

The Burlington Tenants Union is here to help you organize your Building/Complex. We will Phone call and Email bomb the Owners and Building Managers, we will Flyer the Owners at their Home Neighborhoods and shame them, we will hand out information to help you organize your neighbors, and we can give you Information on how to protect yourself against the Owners/Building Managers.

Burlington City Level

The BTU is in contact with the City Councilors and keeping a close eye on the not Tenant favorable decisions our City Government is making supposedly on our behalf. We will always keep you Informed on the facts of those decisions. If their decisions are harmful to Tenants we will have pickets, phone call and Email bomb the City Councilors and Mayors Office, and help by writing up Front Porch Forum posts to let your Neighbors know what is being done to get more support and maybe effect change.

Government/State  Level

As you know, we are always watching out for the Facts in what our Government has set forth supposedly on our behalf. We are attending meetings that the City Councilors and Mayor are having and giving our Input on the measures they’re still not putting in place. We are writing up a list of demands that we want put in place to protect Tenants at the City level. We will Picket (when the Pandemic is over) City Hall, and we will support anyone who is willing to Rent Strike.

Eviction Actions

The BTU will have a Call to Action for Tenants that are being Evicted from their Apartments. We will perform what is known to other Tenants Unions across the US as Eviction Blockades to prevent Evictions from being enacted.
We’ve got your back!
